Meet Bret & Stephen

Broadway Husbands started out as a way for us, Bret Shuford and Stephen Hanna, to connect with fellow theatre lovers as a happily married couple on Instagram. We are actors on and off stage and enjoy connecting with our followers on social media as we chronicle our lives - the good, the bad, and everything in between. From booking shows, not getting the part, and the ups and downs of our surrogacy journey, we invite our followers and friends to come along with us through it all!
We met and fell in love in NYC while Stephen was a principal dancer with the New York City Ballet, and Bret was performing in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast on Broadway. We got married in 2011, and it has been one non-stop thrill ride ever since!
We have continued our successful Broadway and dance careers, traveled across the globe to teach inspired artists, and performed on stages big and small. What started as a fun little way for us to share our love openly and boldly with our fans, friends, and followers has grown into a community of show tune fans, fellow married couples, artists, Disney fanatics (like Bret), people going through the surrogacy process, LGBT+ folks looking for a sign that a happy and loving future is a possibility for them, and so many more groups of people who we have gotten to know over time.
